Singh Rawat released “Tehri Rajya Ke Aitihasik
Jan Vidroh”, a book on people’s rebellions in erstwhile Tehri estate on
Thursday 6th April in
Dehradun.
The book has been authored by eminent writer and senior
journalist Jay Singh Rawat. The book
Narrates the stories of people’s struggles against highhandedness of monarchy and its bureaucracy from King
Sudarshan Shah to the last king Manvendra Shah. Many hidden and unknown
historic facts were brought to the light by the author in this book. Historians
like Dr. Yogesh Dhasmana and Dr Devendra Bhashin appreciated the great effort
of the Author. Padmshree LeelaDhar Jaguri, Avdhesh Kaushal, Basanti bisht and
the Chief Minister himself lauded the great efforts of senior journalist and author Jay Singh Rawat.
The Chief Minister said the book was a historic document that would serve the
readers, who are keen to know of the peoples resentment caused by encroachments
of the traditional rights on forest erstwhile bureaucracy of the king that took place during the kingship of Panwar
dynasty from Sudarshan Shah to Manvendra Shah. Padmshree Avdhesh Kaushal,
Padmshre Leela Dhar Jaguri, Padmshree Basanti Bisht and Renowned Garhwali
singer Narendra Singh Negi were among those hundreds of prominent citizens of
Uttarakhand who attended the book release function. — TNS
