स्वच्छता के नए नायक: उत्तराखंड की ‘बैनी सेना’ और ट्रांसजेंडर समुदाय की क्रांति: In Uttarakhand, this spirit has taken the name ‘Bainni Sena ’-the ‘Army of Sisters’. Across 57 groups, 570 women monitor cleanliness activities in their wards. They interact with citizens, help communicate complaints, conduct awareness programmes, and support coordination between the municipal administration and sanitation workers. Their work happens where a city’s cleanliness is truly decided.
